The Pulaski Street School houses 800 fifth and sixth-grade students. It is located on Pulaski Street adjacent to Polish Town. The beautiful brick building with its majestic columns was erected in 1938 and was the site of the first high school. With its high ceilings and large windows, the school carries a special charm. School Hours are 8:25 AM to 2:40 PM.
Pulaski has strong community partnerships with community organizations:
-The Community Awareness Program (CAP) emphasizes self-esteem, discipline, and remaining drug-free.
-The Long Island Science Center provides many online and in-person programs for our students.
-The Riverhead Senior Center works alongside our media center to establish relationships with our seniors and students.
-The Riverhead Public Library provides all our students with the opportunity to access their resources through school and public library collaboration.
– Strong arts/music programs and community-sponsored essay contests.
– A variety of after-school clubs and after-school activities.
– Pulaski students and staff raise awareness and money each year for causes often inspired by the Reading/Writing program and participate in a number of other fund-raisers for charities.
