Prescriptions
The Riverhead Central School District is required to collect prescriptions for the related services of Speech, Psychological Counseling, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Nursing Services.
The prescriptions for Speech and Counseling are completed by certified RCSD service providers – Speech Pathologists and Social Workers.
Prescriptions for Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Nursing Services are sent directly to the student’s primary physician. Parents/Guardians will be asked to provide the name and contact information for their doctors for this purpose.
The District follows both HIPAA and FERPA laws in obtaining signed prescriptions for student related services. Prescriptions are valid from July 1st to June 30th and new prescriptions must be completed each school year.
