Superintendent of Schools Joins Aquebogue Students Serving as Principal for the Day

October 29, 2021

Dr. Augustine E. Tornatore recently joined students at Aquebogue Elementary School to celebrate the “Read to Lead” event where several students were selected to serve as principal for the day.

As part of the day’s activities, students learned how the walkie-talkies work, visited with past teachers, examined a landscaping project we are undertaking and joined in with Ms. Mercurio’s music class to learn a rhythm game as part of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Additionally, the principals for the day had the honor of stocking up the newest addition to our outdoor learning spaces such as Keri’s Little Free Library. The thoughtful donation by the Riverhead High School PTSO of the Little Free Library was in honor of beloved Mrs. Stromski and is sure to both stimulate and celebrate connection with the outdoors, one another and a love of literacy for many years to come.
