Swinging Around

January 8, 2021

For the first time, all students at Aquebogue Elementary School in the Riverhead Central School District are able to enjoy the school’s swing set thanks to the donation of an adaptive swing from American Recreational.

The set now features a new swing, designated for children ages 5-12, that aids children who require support to play safely.

“We have several children who will benefit from the swing,” said Assistant Principal Gary Karlson. “Until recently, for example, one new kindergartner was only able to watch his classmates use the swings from his wheelchair. Now, he and his entire class can enjoy the swings together.”

The school extends a sincere thank-you to American Recreational for graciously donating the adaptive swing.
