Young Scientists in Action

March 3, 2021

As part of a science unit on geology, fourth graders at Riley Avenue Elementary School tested their science skills by conducting a variety of labs, forming hypotheses and working with their peers through Google Meet.

The experiments focused on the rock cycle, rock identification, earthquakes, volcanoes and plate tectonics.

“Students were petrologists, volcanologists and seismologists throughout the unit,” said teacher Edward Tholl. “It was a lot of fun and excitement for all.”
